How the Military Veteran Team Became Florida's #1 Real Estate Team by Sides
What does it really take to build a real estate team capable of closing 1,352 sides in a single year?
Most people assume the answer is simple: more leads, more agents, or a hot market. In my experience, that's only part of the story.
Sustainable growth comes from building systems that allow people to succeed consistently. It comes from leadership that develops other leaders. It comes from training that never stops, administrative support that removes bottlenecks, and accountability that helps agents improve every week.
The Military Veteran Team (MVT) at LPT Realty didn't reach this level because of one strategy. We built an ecosystem where agents can focus on serving clients while being supported by proven processes, mentorship, and operational structure.
According to our internal production records, MVT completed 1,352 transaction sides in 2025, making it Florida's #1 real estate team by sides. This article explores the principles and infrastructure that helped make that possible.
Great Teams Are Built on Systems, Not Individual Talent
I've been in real estate long enough to know that talent alone doesn't create consistency.
Many agents have incredible work ethic. Many know their market inside and out. But without repeatable systems, even great agents can find themselves starting over every month.
One of the biggest differences I've seen inside MVT is the emphasis on documented processes.
Rather than relying on memory or individual habits, important activities are organized into repeatable workflows. Lead follow-up, client communication, transaction management, onboarding, and daily planning all benefit from systems that reduce confusion and improve consistency.
Systems don't replace relationships. They create more time to build them.
Leadership That Creates More Leaders
One of the strengths of our organization is that leadership isn't limited to titles.
Our goal is to develop agents who eventually become mentors themselves.
That means experienced professionals share what they've learned, newer agents receive guidance without feeling isolated, and collaboration becomes part of everyday business.
As Director of Mentorship and Senior Director of Recruitment, I've seen firsthand how much faster people grow when they have access to experienced professionals who genuinely want to help them improve.
Leadership isn't about having all the answers.
It's about creating an environment where people continue learning.
Training Is a Daily Commitment
Real estate changes constantly.
Markets shift.
Technology evolves.
Consumer expectations change.
That's why education can't be something that happens once a month.
Personally, I spend part of every weekday training agents on best practices and lead generation because consistent learning creates consistent performance. My focus has always been helping agents sharpen practical skills they can apply immediately, whether that's improving conversations, organizing follow-up, or building stronger daily habits.
When learning becomes part of your routine instead of an occasional event, improvement becomes much more predictable.
Lead Generation Is About Consistency, Not Luck
One of the biggest misconceptions in real estate is that successful agents simply receive better leads.
The reality is usually much different.
Lead generation is a process.
It involves creating opportunities, responding quickly, maintaining consistent communication, and following up long after many people would have stopped.
Inside MVT, the emphasis isn't simply on finding prospects. It's on developing disciplined habits around lead management and relationship building.
That mindset helps create long-term business instead of chasing short-term wins.
Technology Should Simplify Business
Technology is only valuable when it helps agents spend more time serving people.
The right CRM, automation, and communication tools can reduce repetitive work, improve organization, and make it easier to stay connected with clients throughout the buying or selling process.
Technology shouldn't replace personal relationships.
It should support them.
When systems handle routine tasks efficiently, agents gain more time for conversations, negotiations, and delivering exceptional service.
Administrative Support Creates Scalability
One lesson many agents learn the hard way is that production eventually creates complexity.
More transactions mean more paperwork.
More communication.
More deadlines.
More coordination.
Without administrative support, agents often become overwhelmed by operational work instead of focusing on clients.
Strong administrative infrastructure allows professionals to stay in their highest-value activities while experienced support staff help keep transactions organized and moving forward.
That operational consistency benefits both agents and clients.
Accountability Builds Better Habits
Motivation comes and goes.
Discipline lasts.
One reason accountability matters is because it creates consistency during the days when motivation isn't enough.
Inside successful organizations, accountability isn't about criticism.
It's about measurement.
Are daily activities happening?
Are conversations improving?
Are follow-up commitments being completed?
Are goals being reviewed honestly?
Small improvements repeated over time often produce remarkable long-term results.
Collaboration Beats Competition
Real estate has historically been viewed as an individual business.
While personal responsibility remains essential, collaboration can dramatically accelerate growth.
Sharing ideas.
Learning from experienced professionals.
Celebrating wins.
Helping solve challenges.
These habits create an environment where everyone benefits from the collective experience of the organization.
I've found that agents grow faster when they know they don't have to figure everything out alone.
Culture Is What Holds Everything Together
Systems matter.
Training matters.
Leadership matters.
Technology matters.
But culture determines whether those pieces work together.
At MVT, the focus is on service, mentorship, professionalism, accountability, and supporting one another as we continue growing.
A healthy culture encourages people to ask questions.
It welcomes improvement.
It celebrates progress while recognizing there's always more to learn.
That's the kind of environment many agents are searching for.
Growth Doesn't Happen Overnight
Completing 1,352 sides in a year wasn't the result of one great month or one successful marketing campaign.
Growth comes from thousands of daily decisions.
Showing up consistently.
Improving systems.
Developing leaders.
Investing in education.
Supporting agents.
Serving clients well.
Those principles continue creating momentum long after individual transactions are complete.
For me, that's the most rewarding part.
Helping agents become more confident, more organized, and better equipped to build lasting careers is every bit as meaningful as closing another deal.
