Why MVT Is Building in Every Major Florida Market
Florida has always been home to me. I’ve watched our communities grow, our housing markets evolve, and families from every background choose this state as the place where they want to build their next chapter.
But in real estate, growth means more than new construction, more transactions, or more people moving into the state.
Growth creates opportunity.
That is one of the biggest reasons the Military Vet Team (MVT) at LPT Realty is building a presence in every major Florida market.
As Senior Director of Recruitment and Director of Mentorship with MVT, I spend a significant part of every day working with real estate professionals. I train agents, mentor them through transactions, help them develop lead-generation strategies, and work with leaders who want to build something bigger than their individual production.
What I’ve learned is simple: when an organization expands the right way, opportunities multiply for everyone.
And Florida gives us an incredible environment in which to do exactly that.
Florida Isn't One Real Estate Market
People outside Florida sometimes talk about "the Florida real estate market" as though it were one market.
Those of us working here know better.
Tampa Bay is different from Orlando. Orlando is different from Jacksonville. Jacksonville is different from Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Naples, Sarasota, or the Florida Panhandle.
Even within Tampa Bay, Pinellas County and Hillsborough County can present completely different opportunities.
A military family PCSing to MacDill Air Force Base has different priorities from an investor searching for a vacation rental near Clearwater Beach. A veteran purchasing a first home with a VA loan may need completely different guidance than an owner evaluating whether a property makes more sense as an annual rental or short-term vacation rental.
That's why statewide expansion cannot simply mean putting another pin on a map.
Real expansion requires local professionals.
It requires agents who understand neighborhoods, leaders who understand their people, mentors who understand transactions, recruiters who can recognize talent, and administrative professionals who can build the systems that allow everyone else to perform at a high level.
That is what makes MVT's statewide growth exciting to me.
Statewide Growth Creates Local Opportunity
When MVT enters or strengthens its presence in another Florida market, we're not trying to replace local expertise. We're creating an environment where local expertise can become even more valuable.
Think about what happens when a strong organization develops a real presence in a community.
We need agents who know the market.
We need experienced professionals capable of mentoring newer agents.
We need leaders who can build culture and accountability.
We need recruiters who can identify people who fit the organization.
We need administrative specialists who can support transactions, operations, communication, training, marketing, and continued expansion.
Every new market creates another layer of opportunity.
That's important because not everyone in real estate wants the same career.
Some people want to become elite producing agents.
Others discover that their greatest strength is teaching.
Some love recruiting and connecting people.
Others are natural operators who can organize complicated systems behind the scenes.
And some agents eventually want to become leaders capable of developing an entire market.
A growing organization needs all of them.
Opportunity for Agents
Agents are obviously at the center of real estate.
But I believe agents perform best when they aren't forced to figure everything out alone.
I've personally listed and sold more than 100 homes, and I've managed and mentored hundreds of transactions since entering the business in 2017. One lesson has remained consistent throughout that experience: knowledge compounds.
Learning how to generate a lead is valuable.
Learning how to convert that lead is better.
Learning how to successfully guide that client through a transaction is better still.
And learning how to repeat that process consistently is how you build a business.
That's why I train Realtors daily from 9–11 AM on real estate best practices and lead generation.
For me, mentorship isn't motivational talk. It should be practical.
What do you say?
What do you do next?
How do you handle the transaction?
How do you build relationships?
How do you create another opportunity after closing?
As MVT expands across Florida, more agents can participate in that type of environment while applying what they learn to their own local markets.
Opportunity for Mentors
One of the most overlooked career paths in real estate is mentorship.
There comes a point when an experienced agent realizes that his or her knowledge has value beyond the next personal transaction.
You've made mistakes.
You've solved difficult problems.
You've dealt with inspections, negotiations, financing issues, appraisal challenges, nervous clients, complicated timelines, and closings that looked impossible three weeks earlier.
That experience can help another agent avoid months—or years—of unnecessary frustration.
I take mentorship seriously because I've seen what happens when agents receive real guidance.
Confidence increases.
Decision-making improves.
Clients receive better service.
And eventually, the person being mentored becomes capable of helping someone else.
That's how organizations become stronger.
MVT's expansion creates opportunities for experienced Florida agents who want to move beyond production and begin developing people.
Opportunity for Leaders and Recruiters
Leadership is another major piece of statewide growth.
You cannot effectively build across Florida with one person attempting to control every market.
The organization needs local leaders.
Those leaders understand their communities, their agents, and the challenges occurring on the ground. They help translate the larger vision into daily action.
Recruitment works the same way.
As Senior Director of Recruitment, I don't view recruiting as simply adding names to a roster.
The real question is whether we're bringing in people who can grow within the organization and contribute to its culture.
The best recruit isn't always the agent with the biggest production today.
Sometimes it's the hungry new Realtor who needs direction.
Sometimes it's the experienced producer ready for leadership.
Sometimes it's a veteran whose military background has given them discipline, accountability, and a natural ability to serve others.
And sometimes it's someone who eventually discovers that recruiting itself is where they excel.
When you expand statewide, you create more opportunities for those people to emerge.
Opportunity Beyond Sales
Real estate organizations aren't built by salespeople alone.
The larger the operation becomes, the more important administrative and operational professionals become.
Transactions need coordination.
Training needs organization.
Agents need support.
Communication needs structure.
Systems need to scale.
Data needs to be managed.
Events need coordination.
Marketing needs execution.
Leaders need operational support.
These positions may not always be visible to the consumer, but they are essential to building a professional organization.
That's another reason I believe MVT's growth throughout Florida matters.
We're not simply talking about creating more places for Realtors to sell houses.
We're talking about building an ecosystem where people with different professional strengths can find opportunities.
The Military Community Makes Statewide Connectivity Even More Important
The military relocation side of my business has given me another perspective on statewide growth.
Military families move.
A lot.
PCS orders don't care whether your trusted real estate professional happens to specialize in the city you're moving to next.
That's why relationships across markets are so valuable.
A service member may leave the Tampa Bay area and need assistance elsewhere. Another family may receive orders bringing them to MacDill Air Force Base and need someone who understands military timelines, VA financing, neighborhoods, rentals, and the realities of relocating a family.
A statewide network makes those transitions easier.
Instead of a relationship ending at a county line, we can connect people with professionals who understand both the local market and the standard of service we expect.
For military families in particular, I believe that matters.
More Markets Should Mean More Opportunities for People
I've built my career around several different sides of real estate: sales, leadership, recruitment, mentorship, military relocation, and rental investments.
Owning Jason's Vacation Rentals has also shown me how different the investment side of real estate can be from traditional residential sales. Short-term vacation rentals and annual rentals require another set of skills and another way of evaluating opportunities.
That's why I don't believe there is only one path to success in this industry.
The future producer might be joining MVT today.
So might the future mentor.
The future recruiter.
The future market leader.
The future administrative specialist who develops a system eventually used by hundreds of agents.
That's the real opportunity behind statewide growth.
We're building markets, but more importantly, we're building people.
Florida will continue to change. Communities will grow. Buyers will relocate. Sellers will need guidance. Veterans will transition into civilian life. Military families will receive new orders. Investors will search for opportunities. New agents will enter the industry looking for direction.
Our responsibility is to be ready to serve them.
For MVT, building in every major Florida market means creating strong local teams connected by a larger statewide network of leadership, mentorship, training, and opportunity.
And for the right people whether they're agents, mentors, recruiters, leaders, or administrative professionals—that growth could represent the beginning of an entirely new chapter in their careers.
